Structural Steel Installer (Vancouver Island)
Full-time, Permanent
We currently have 3 openings for Structural Steel Installers. We offer a competitive wage along with benefits after 3 months. Our sites are throughout Vancouver Island, predominantly in Victoria/Nanaimo. Primary Duties/Responsibilities
- CWB Standard Welding as well as to specifications of drawings provided
- Processing items (i.e., Hole Drilling, Grinding, etc)
- Organize yourself appropriately to make your jobs flow more efficiently
Education
- Required: High school or Equivalent
- Preferred: Trade School
Experience
Minimum 3 years experience in a steel fabrication shop or onsite.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
- Possess a proven ability to read and completely understand drawings
- Able to work in/with high pressure situations and deadlines
- Positive attitude
- Motivated and able to motivate others
- Possess good communication and people skills
License/Certification
- CWB SMAW All Position Certification is an asset, but we will certify the right person
- Fall Arrest and Aerial Platform Tickets is an asset, but we will certify the right person
- Possess a valid driver’s license

- Able to ascend and descend ladders, scaffolds, and stairs
- Uneven walking surfaces
- Working around machinery with moving parts
- Working around moving objects or vehicles

Shipper/Receiver & Painter/Quality Control (Courtenay)
Full-time, Permanent
Imperial Welding Ltd. is looking for an enthusiastic individual for the position of Shipper/Receiver & Painter/Quality Control. This is an ideal position for a career minded individual who enjoys working in a busy dynamic environment. The position involves receiving goods and dealing with paperwork and delivery drivers. Shipping finished product to site, loading trailers, painting, quality control, and general housekeeping.
Primary Duties/Responsibilities
- Safely load, unload, move, ship and receive product.
- Perform quality audits of the condition of shipped goods for both incoming and outgoing items prior to signing off/shipping.
- Wrap skids of completed parts.
- Paint structural steel.
- General housekeeping.
- Other duties, as assigned.
Education
- Required: High school or Equivalent
Experience
No experience required.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
- Working outdoors and indoors.
- Able to lift up to 50lbs unassisted.
- Able to ascend and descend ladders, scaffolds, and stairs.
