Born and raised in Victoria, as a teen, Doug worked at VI Steel and R.G. Welding on the weekends and after school. Post graduation, he completed a 4-year apprenticeship at BCIT and in 1987 became a Journeyman Steel Fabricator. In 1992 Imperial Welding Ltd was formed.
Tim came to Imperial Welding in 2005 as a ticketed Fabricator/Fitter. Eventually, he became a shop foreman and now oversees operations of the company as our General Manager.
Senior Project Manager
Steve began his career at Imperial Welding in 1998 where he served his apprenticeship to become a journeyman fabricator. He went on to become a shop foreman before returning to school for steel detailing. Steve now works as a Project Manager and is celebrating his 24th year at IWL.
Senior Site Superintendent
Ed has been with Imperial Welding since 1995. He served his apprenticeship as a steel fabricator before moving out into the field to erect our structural steel buildings, eventually becoming the company’s Senior Site Superintendent.
Brent is our Project Manager in Courtenay. He has 30 years of industry experience and has been 10 years with Imperial Welding.
Mike is a Project Manager in the Duncan office, and while he is new to the steel industry, he is not new to construction. He is a Red Seal-ticketed carpenter who has been in construction since 2005. He joined Imperial Welding in 2022.
Will has been in the steel industry since 1998, when he was in grade 10. He is a welder, fabricator, and ironworker. He joined IWL in 2011 and has been a valued site superintendent ever since.
